Boat towables come in all sizes and kids love them. They especially love the one or two or rider type. The two rider type allows them to have their buddy enjoying the exciting ride with them. All they have to do is hang on tight.
The fact that it doesn't take any experience to have an exilerating ride is even more appreciated by kids of all ages. With their faces so close to the water it seems like they are really speeding even though they are really only going ten miles an hour. Make a note of that - 10 miles an hour. They should have helmets and life jackets on at all times.
The driver should start out slowly, going straight ahead for the little ones. Then gradually begin to turn slightly, first one way and then the other until the child is ok with it. Then these turns from side to side can increase in size until the tube is sliding up the side of the wake the boat is making. You can get a little wilder as the child gains experience and knows what to expect.

Towing Speeds
The speed needs to be geared to the age of the riders.
Age 5 to 11 - - -8 to 10 MPH
Age 9 to 14 - - -10 to 15 MPH
Age 13 to 16 - - - 13 to 20 MPH
Along with age, ability is an important factor. This means the ability of not only the riders but the driver of the boat and the designated spotter. Everyone involved should be alert and sober, but the ultilmate responsibility for the safety of all the riders and even other boaters is on the driver. Therefore the driver should communicate the possibilities of problems and how to deal with them.
